What is a Mason Telecommunications Coordinator?
- Selected by their department to be primary contact for Telecommunications Administration.
- Authorized by their department to submit various service request forms committing department funds to compensate ITU for services.
Responsibilities of a Mason Telecommunications Coordinator
- Submits the following forms to Telecommunications Administration:
Voice request forms for: telephones (includes VoIP, 2050i), VPN access for VoIP phones, and voice mail.
Data request forms for: jack installs, wiring for voice, data, and cable TV, pc and printer (installs and moves), and installation of cable TV.
Conference bridge form for GMU's audio conference bridge.
VITA Conference bridge form for VIrginia Information Technology Agency's conference services.
Appropriate order forms for: cell phones, pagers, and long distance calling cards.
- Submits request to eVa for vendors to install jack(s) and to order headsets.
- Coordinates install dates and new telephone numbers with end users.
- Responsible for submitting correct information on the request form, to include proper index number to charge, building and room numbers, telephone and jack numbers, and phone types for upgrade requests.
- Reviews telecommunications billing with the department head and contacts the Telecommunications Billing Administrator regarding any concerns or questions.
- Submits requests for voice mail and call processing to the Mason Mail Administrator. Responsible for submitting name and telephone number for voice mail requests and written scripts for call processing applications
